T-Mobile Electronic Beats music scene at New Horizons

T-Mobile New Horizons International Film Festival lineup has been revealed Urszula Śniegowska's Top 10

The music scene at the 17th T-Mobile New Horizons will be the third of four scheduled T-Mobile Electronic Beats events this summer. On 3-13 August, the music of dozens of extraordinary artists from all over the world will resound within the walls of the Arsenal club.

There will be 26 performers, including bands, soloists, live acts and DJ sets. Electro, techno, hip hop, guitar, performance and dubstep are just some of the musical styles that we will enjoy. Thanks to T-Mobile Electronic Beats, this will be one of the festival's biggest music scenes in years.

One of the biggest events will be a concert by one of the bright lights from the American independent scene, the duo Shabazz Palaces, featuring Ishmael Butterfly Butler, a legend who redefined hip hop with his gold album Reachin' (A New Refutation of Time and Space). After a long break, the artist surprised the world of alternative hip hop with his new project, Shabazz Palaces. For Polish fans, this will be a unique opportunity to hear the duo's latest singles live. The duo are coming to Poland as special guests of the Festival and T-Mobile Electronic Beats.

Zebra Katz will also appear on the Arsenal stage. A true cat among this year's performers, Katz is known for the brilliant Ima Read, as well ashis performances with the band Gorillaz, which fans had a chance to see recently at concerts in both Katowice and Warsaw organized by T-Mobile Electronic Beats. Do you happen to recall last year's concert by the duo H09909, or do you regret missing it? Katz's performance will be a must-see event.

Darren Cunningham, who goes by the pseudonym Actress, was until recently known almost exclusively to the initiated. From the underground scene to salons, his album Splazsh earned rave reviews and was named by "The Wire" magazine as the best album of 2010. Although critics see Actress as the savior and reviver of dubstep, he is more eager to talk about his fascination with the techno scene in Detroit and Berlin, and with Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder. His performance at Arsenal will mainly feature songs from his latest and one of the most anticipated albums of the year, AZD.

DJ Lag, a producer and DJ known from the electro scene, will be arriving straight from Durban for his only concert in Europe. He is a pioneer of Gqom, which his talent has brought to some of the world's biggest dance scenes. According to the curator of the festival's music scene, Kostas Georgakopulos, he will definitely be one of the most interesting figures at this year's T-Mobile Electronic Beats.

Yves Tumor, a composer and DJ whose work is difficult to categorize unequivocally-on the one hand, it is tender and spiritual, on the other, brusque and raucous. His concerts feature an ambient collage of sounds from the B side of dusty albums, indie recordings and something resembling an angelic choir. Audiences in Wrocław should get ready for something that is more like a musical performance than a regular concert.

While the Waglewski brothers performed with their father last year, they will take over the stage at T-Mobile Electronic Beats this time in the form of Fisz Emade, presenting material from their latest album, Drony (Drones). Having won countless music awards for their quality and commitment, they have been among the top Polish hip-hop bands for years.

The famous Mitch & Mitch, known for their spectacular festival performances, will also make an appearance in our courtyard. The pleasure of listening comes from their pleasure of listening, that is to say, the best recommendation for spending a summer evening at the Arsenal Festival Club.

A full list of performers is available at www.nowehoryzonty.pl

Concerts will be held daily from 3 to 13 August in the courtyard of the Municipal Arsenal (Wrocław, Cieszyńskiego 9).

Ticket sales for music events will start on 19 July at 12:00 noon. Tickets for musical evenings at the Festival Club cost: PLN 25 or PLN 16 for holders of a festival pass or T-Mobile subscribers. Pass holders can purchase discount tickets on the Festival website and at New Horizons Cinema (ul. Kazimierza Wielkiego 19a-21).
